In November 2024 Lisa became Billboard's first global cover star and spoke about going solo.
“At first, I was scared and nervous because I never really come out here to do my own stuff. And now I’m having fun,” she said at the time.
Lisa continued, “When [my singles] came out, the reaction from the fans, it’s healing me. It’s like, ‘Oh, my God. Yeah — I did a great job!'"
She noted that as a member of BLACKPINK she's known as a "rapper."
"I always rap. But now it’s a chance for me to show the world that I’m capable of [so much more],” added Lisa.
BLACKPINK wrapped their Deadline world stadium tour in January.
