Bring Me The Horizon's Oli Sykes suffered a "mild concussion" at a recent show
In an Instagram Stories note shared on Tuesday, May 12, the rocker revealed that a phone that was thrown at his head gave him a "mild concussion"
The incident occurred on Monday, May 11 during the British rock band's show at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis
Oli Sykes experienced a terrifying moment during a recent Bring Me The Horizon show.
Per fan-captured footage, the English musician was struck in the head by a phone while performing the British rock band's 2015 track "Happy Song" at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis on Monday, May 11.
After he was hit in the left temple, Sykes, 39, could be seen crouching down on the stage.
“Who the f--- just threw a phone at my f---in’ head?” he asked, checking for blood, per another video from the moment.
On Tuesday, May 12, Sykes, 39, took to his Instagram Stories to address the incident, which he said left him with a "mild concussion."
“Alright everyone — just wanted to let you know I’m all good,” he wrote. “The phone to the head definitely smarted and I ended up with a mild concussion, but the swelling’s gone down a decent amount already.”
He further explained that he was “struggling” during the rest of the concert and apologized to the audience.
“Last night I was struggling a bit on stage afterwards because signing was putting a lot of pressure on the wound and making things feel a bit disorienting while performing, so I’m sorry on my part for what may of seemed like a half hearted performance," wrote Sykes.
