She revealed why Maddie Ziegler missed her wedding in a new episode of Casual Chaos with Gia Giudice

Maddie Ziegler missed her friend Brooke Hyland's wedding for a good reason.

Many Dance Moms stars were present for Brooke's wedding to Brian Thalman on Saturday, Feb. 21, in Fort Myers, Fla., but one alum was noticeably absent, leading fans to speculate why. During the latest episode of the Casual Chaos with Gia Giudice podcast, Brooke, 28, explained why Maddie, 23, skipped her nuptials while her sister, Mackenzie Ziegler, 21, and mother, Melissa Gisoni, 57, both attended.

"Unfortunately, a few of the girls couldn't make it to my shower, but as of right now I'm pretty sure everyone is coming to the wedding except for Maddie because she's filming something. So she won't be able to," Brooke shared on the podcast, which was recorded before her wedding but wasn't released until Monday, Feb. 23.

Maddie signed on to star in the new Netflix rom-com In a Holidaze, alongside Rob Lowe, Graham Phillips and Elias Kacavas, Deadline announced in December. Filming was scheduled to begin this year on Jan. 29 in Vancouver and Whistler, British Columbia, Canada, with production concluding on March 12, per Production Weekly.

Despite Maddie missing the wedding, Brooke noted that her relationship with the original cast members of Dance Moms is "so great."

"I think with all the original girls on the show, we have a really good relationship. I would say we're all like sisters. Honestly, sometimes sisters don't like each other but you always love each other, you know?" Brooke's younger sister, Paige Hyland, 25, said.

Brooke agreed, sharing, "Yeah, we all live in different places, like Chloe [Lukasiak]'s in New York, Nia [Sioux]'s in L.A., same with the Zieglers. So we don't get to see each other as much as we would like, but any time any of us are in the area, we always try to make an effort to see each other. It's nice with all my wedding stuff right now that it gives us a reason to be in the same room."

Other stars from Dance Moms who were spotted at the wedding, based on guest posts on social media, included Nia Sioux, mom Holly Frazier, Chloe Lukasiak, mom Christi Lukasiak, Kendall Vertes mom Jill Vertes and Kalani Hilliker. Paige served as Brooke's maid of honor, and their mother, Kelly Hyland, was, of course, at the wedding too.

Christi shared several Dance Moms group photos from the wedding reception on Instagram on Sunday, Feb. 22, writing, "It was a time….celebrating our @brookehyland and her sweet husband, Brian. I cried 87 times to see her so happy and to be lucky enough to spend the evening with women I love so dearly. Thankful for a night filled with love and friendship 🤍💍🤍💍."

"I love our dysfunctional family❤️ and Brooke threw the best wedding ❤️," commented Hilliker, whose destination wedding Brooke attended with Paige in September.
