BTS's RM opened up about how one of the band's members almost performed solo at the Super Bowl.

In a video interview with Rolling Stone shared on Monday, April 13, alongside a cover story, the musician (born Kim Namjoon) revealed that Jungkook missed an opportunity to play the major football event.

RM, 31, noted that the artist (born Jeon Jung-kook), 28, "almost" performed at the 2024 Super Bowl.

“Usher invited him before the military, but it didn't work out because of the military,” he claimed in the clip.

PEOPLE has reached out to a rep for Usher for comment.

Jungkook's mandatory mimandatory service began in December 2023 alongside Jimin. Per Billboard Korea, they were stationed with the Army's 5th Infantry Division Artillery Brigade.

All able-bodied men aged 18-28 must serve between 18 and 21 months in the military in South Korea.

In the Rolling Stone cover story, RM praised the Super Bowl Halftime Show.

“Officially, unofficially, I think it's the best event and show stage in the whole world," he said, as his bandmates agreed how massive the platform is.

But BTS noted that performing at the annual event would depend on the right timing.

“Maybe if time goes by, and the thoughts in the people change. All of the people in the world are watching Parasite, all these great things in Korean culture. So if there's a chance, we definitely want to someday,” the band leader added in the video interview.
