- - ‘Christmas Vacation’ Cast Reunites 36 Years After the Iconic Film and Fans Can’t Get Enough

Get ready for Cousin Eddie to pull up in his trailer, because four of the stars of the iconic holiday film National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation reunited this weekend.

The beloved 1989 Christmas movie, which starred Chevy Chase as family man Clark W. Griswold and Beverly D'Angelo as his long-suffering wife Ellen, is a holiday classic. Acclaimed actress Juliette Lewis played their daughter Audrey. At the same time, Randy Quaid cemented his place in our minds as bathrobe-wearing Cousin Eddie, who pulls his trailer into the Griswolds' driveway and basically never leaves.

The foursome of stars, who have each done tremendous work in the 36 years since the film premiered, shocked fans when they reunited for a photo this weekend at Rhode Island Comic Con.

In the comments section, everyone was thrilled to see the Christmas Vacation squad back together 36 years after the film premiered.

Schitt's Creek legend Dan Levy jumped in with a heart eye emoji, while Marisol Nichols, who played Audrey in National Lampoon's Vegas Vacation, commented with "Merry early Christmas from one Audrey to another ❤️." Even Rose McGowan chimed in with "heaven exists."

Of course, plenty of us non-famous folk were delighted as well.

"The reunion we all were waiting for!" one person said.

Love you guys, it's not Christmas unless we watch this movie," someone else added.

"Rusty must be in the Navy?" someone else commented, a joke referring to how the character of Aunt Bethany thought teenage son Rusty was in the military.

D'Angelo Almost Turned Down the Role

D’Angelo told PEOPLE back in 2022 that she initially was set to turn down the role of Ellen Griswold in the first Vacation movie. She was primarily a dramatic actress, and she felt she was too young to play the mother of a teenager.

"I was so sure that I wasn't the right person," she told the publication. However, her agent made it clear that the film was “very funny,” and when she met Chase, she recognized they had a connection with "great chemistry."

"It was like meeting my brother," D'Angelo recalled.
