Dakota Fanning is looking to become a mom.
During an exclusive chat with Byrdie, the All Her Fault actress, 31, opened up about the next phase of her life and wanting to welcome kids in the upcoming era. Fanning shared that she has always wanted to have kids, as it's something that's "been really important to me."
"Every year that goes by, you're more in tune with who you are and with what you want and don't want," she told the outlet. "I'm associating this decade with the next part of my life. I've always wanted to have kids — that's something I've never questioned and has always been really important to me. So, hopefully, dating will end soon, and this next decade will bring that into my life."

This is not the first time the actress has revealed her desire to welcome children. During an interview with PORTER in April 2024, the Ripley star explained that as she's set up her career, she's made sure to leave herself with the option to start a family.
"Being an actor is a huge part of my identity. I don't really know who I am without it," Fanning told the outlet. "But I also have a desire to set up my life and career so that I always have a choice."
Fanning went on to say that becoming a mother is "probably more important to me than anything."
"Having kids is probably more important to me than anything, even being an actor," she said. "If somebody said I had to choose, I would choose having kids. I'm one of those people who has always felt that pull."

Though at the time she didn't know exactly when she wanted to start a family or how much she'll want to work at that time, The Watchers actress said she's taking advantage of adventures now.
"I'm trying to push myself to keep saying yes to things that make me uncomfortable, to keep going to places for long periods of time that maybe I'm scared to do because — God willing — one day, it won't be as easy," she said.
