McRae and Hughes have not publicly confirmed their relationship
Tate McRae and Jack Hughes are keeping quiet as romance rumors swirl.
The singer and the New Jersey Devils center were first linked in November 2025 after they were spotted grabbing dinner together in New York City. A month later, McRae was seen in the stands at one of Hughes’ games, further fueling speculation.
Before that, McRae was in a relationship with The Kid LAROI for over a year. She confirmed their breakup in a December 2025 interview with Rolling Stone, opening up about how difficult it was to navigate such a public romance.
“It was really scary and overwhelming,” she said of the intense scrutiny surrounding their relationship and split. “I didn’t realize how much it would affect me, the public knowing my private life — because no one knows the full story of anything, ever.”
So, are Tate McRae and Jack Huges dating? Here's everything to know about their rumored relationship.

The pair were first spotted together in November 2025 while out to dinner at Anton’s in N.Y.C., per photos obtained by Deuxmoi. The following month, McRae and Hughes were photographed walking through the city, smiling and laughing.
It's unclear how McRae and the NHL player met. During her interview with Rolling Stone, the “greedy” singer shared that dating apps aren’t her thing.
“I’m really bad at flirting,” she said. “No apps. That stuff literally gives me a heart attack, and thinking about meeting people makes me nauseous.”

While speaking to Rolling Stone, the singer hinted that her focus for 2026 would be on spending time with friends — her “hearty, grounded girls and gays” — and embracing the single life.

In February 2026, McRae — who is Canadian — appeared in an NBC commercial promoting the 2026 Winter Olympics. The problem? The ad largely highlighted Team USA athletes, prompting some fans to question why she appeared to be supporting the U.S. over her home country.
McRae quickly reassured her followers, posting a childhood photo on her Instagram Stories of herself holding a small Canadian flag and writing, “…y’all know I’m Canada down.”
The “Sports car” singer has not publicly commented on Team USA’s Feb. 22 men’s hockey win over Canada, during which Hughes scored the gold-medal-winning goal — and lost a few teeth in the process.
