The studio brought the forthcoming series' core creative team on stage at its upfront presentation in New York City on Monday, which * *attended. "Rebecca's books have become one of the fastest-selling franchises of the 21st century, with a fandom so passionate, so devoted, they don't just read these books, they live in them," Averill began. Previously a producer and writer on series like *The Good Wife* and *The Haunting of Hill House*, Averill gushed about Yarros' pentalogy of high-flying fantasy yarns: "The emotional stakes are sky high, the battles are epic, the power dynamics are thrilling, and underneath it is so much humor and heart, and a romance that will consume you."
Yarros' credit as an EP is co-sign enough for her avid fanbase, which made *Fourth Wing *a *New York Times *bestseller for over a year. But she made sure her support for the series was unambiguous, noting, "I couldn't be more grateful that this is the team bringing the world of *Fourth Wing* to life... These are the people who understand what a story means to its readers, and are passionate about the book, which is why I trust them completely."
Finally, Joy, who is best known as as one half of the team behind *Westworld** *(her husband, Jonathan Nolan, is the other half), said she is "thrilled to be directing the first episode. We're building a cinematic world that will capture the incredible universe, characters, and experience of reading these books. Our goal is to deliver the series this fandom deserves."

"Violet's journey in *Fourth Wing* has sparked a global phenomenon, captivating millions of readers and building an intensely passionate fanbase around its world, characters, and emotional stakes," said Peter Friedlander, Amazon MGM Studios' Head of Global Television shared in a release on Monday.
The official greenlight for *Fourth Wing *caps years of rumor, speculation, and anticipation, with Jordan's production company, Outlier Society, acquiring the rights to the book around the time of its 2023 release.
"Just know, it's nothing cheesy coming out... It ain't no obvious choices. I think it's going to be something that feels honest," Jordan teased in February. As to whether he'll play a role, he democratically offered, "I don't know."
