Tuesday's Bundesliga match between Hamburg and Bayer Leverkusen was postponed less than three hours before kickoff due to safety concerns.
Germany has been hit with a major snowstorm in recent days, but the match at Volksparkstadion in Hamburg appeared set to proceed.
But in a statement released only hours before kickoff, the German Football League said that structural issues with the stadium's roof meant the game could not be safely played.
"Weather-related structural risks affecting the stadium roof mean that the Bundesliga match between Hamburger SV and Bayer 04 Leverkusen cannot take place as planned this Tuesday evening (8:30 p.m.)," the statement said.
"The Volksparkstadion has been closed at short notice. A decision regarding a new date will be made as soon as possible."
Over the weekend, two Bundesliga matches were postponed amid the heavy snowfall.
One of those games was set for Hamburg, as St. Pauli was scheduled to host RB Leipzig. The other match was Werder Bremen's home game with Hoffenheim.
