Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet don’t have “the easiest relationship,” a source said, but they are determined to make it work.

The couple spent parts of 2025 long-distance due to their careers.

The insider explained how Jenner feels about Chalamet’s work ethic and discussed their time together during the holidays.

Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet are approaching three years of dating in 2026. A source spoke to People on New Year’s Eve about the reality of their dynamic, particularly when they are long-distance. For much of the second half of 2025, Chalamet was abroad shooting Dune: Part Three.

The holidays offered a reprieve for the pair, who spent time together during the festive season and for his birthday. The source said that they intended to spend New Year’s Eve together and also have a “trip planned.” Overall, the insider explained, “They are making their careers work and making their relationship work at the same time."

December was a good month for their romance, the insider added: “It’s been special for Kylie to have Timothée in Los Angeles more in December. She traveled to Budapest several times in the fall when he was busy working. They spent a lot of time apart, but the past few weeks have made up for it. Still, it’s not the easiest relationship. They are both incredibly focused on their careers and ambitious. She’s running a massive business and raising her kids. He’s super focused on being the best at what he does.”

Jenner has no issues with Chalamet’s drive, though. She “loves [his work ethic],” the source said, adding that she would “never date anyone who just sits around. [They’re] grateful for what they have.”

The pair has largely kept their romance out of interviews, with Chalamet recently declining to speak to Vogue about Jenner. “I don’t say that with any fear, I just don’t have anything to say,” he explained.

Chalamet is preparing to begin his awards season run for Marty Supreme. Jenner joined him at multiple shows last season, including the Oscars, and most recently attended the December Los Angeles premiere of Marty Supreme with him.
