Iran taunts US with chilling new mural showing capture of submarine

Members of the IRGC posted a new billboard depicting a member of the guard standing on a U.S. American REMUS 600 autonomous underwater vehicle
Members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps taunted the U.S. by putting up a brand new billboard showing Iran taking over a submarine.
The billboard went up at Venek Square in central Tehran, Iran, on Monday and shows a member of the IRGC with their foot on an American REMUS 600 autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) with what appears to be an automatic rifle pointing down to the ground. Iran's latest billboard comes after members of the IRGC claimed the seizure of the advanced US-made subsea drone during mine countermeasures and reconnaissance operations in the Strait of Hormuz.
U.S. officials have denied that the IRGC had intercepted the vessel, which was allegedly on a reconnaissance mission in the Strait of Hormuz. The IRGC said in a statement that its navy had seized the vessel following a "coordinated intelligence and electronic warfare operation."
They further claimed that the REMUS 600 had been handed over to the Iranian military experts to "retrieve its data." Iranian officials said that the underwater vehicle is used by the U.S. and other NATO members.
The REMUS is equipped with various sensors, cameras, and advanced sonar systems used for seabed mapping, mine countermeasures, and underwater inspections, and can operate at depths of up to 1968.5 feet. CENTCOM denied the Iranian statement.
CENTCOM spokesman Captain Tim Hawkins said that the U.S. has "positive control of all of our operational drone assets." This is the second time Iran has claimed to have seized U.S. equipment.

Iran's IRGC put up the billboard in Venek Square in central Tehran, Iran, on Monday, showing a member of the IRGC with their foot on an American REMUS 600 autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) with what appears to be an automatic rifle pointing down to the ground.
The billboard is the latest in a series that have expressed Iran's sentiment during the ongoing conflict with the U.S.

Iran has released a series of billboards, primarily featuring U.S. President Donald Trump or his family in various states of humiliation.
The most recent one featured the president being drowned by Iranian forces.

Another billboard posted by the group shows a legendary Persian hero and a flying figure hitting U.S. aircraft carriers.
The billboard was also accompanied by a message, "From the Persian Gulf a new power rises," and "The army of Satan will be drowned in the Persian Gulf."

The anti-Trump appears to draw parallels to the American band Nirvana's "Never Mind" Album cover art, as it includes a dollar bill on a fishing hook, similar to the cover. Trump appears to be floating towards the bill.
Furthermore, Trump is depicted with a missing shoe, alongside text in English which reads "Great Victory! Strait of Hormuz! seemingly alluding to Trump's repeated claims of U.S. victory in the ongoing war with Iran.

Another billboard displayed in Iran shows the U.S. president being choked with the phrase "revenge is inevitable" along with other phrases written in Persian.
The billboard comes as the president has threatened an "economic D-Day" in which the U.S. would enact the "most crushing economic operation ever taken."

In July, members of the IRGC displayed a gruesome billboard showing the president lying in a coffin made of concrete barriers.
The billboard hung in Revolutionary Square with various slogans like "We kill Trump" written in graffiti along the bottom. The coffin walls were reminiscent of chalk-written barriers used at the ceremony honoring the late Iranian supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, at the Imam Khomeini Musalla Mosque

The billboard was seen a day after the U.S. reimposed a naval blockade on Iran and intensified its airstrike campaign on Wednesday in retaliation for Tehran's attacks on ships trying to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.
American strikes hit an Iranian army barracks, killing at least seven troops and wounding more than 260 people across the country, Iranian officials said.

Another billboard that went up in Iran eerily asked, "Who's next?" referring to which U.S. leader Iran should try to kill next.
The billboard was posted shortly after the death of staunch Israel ally Senator Lindsey Graham.

The cloth appears to be in the shape of the Strait of Hormuz, which has been the object of Trump's obsession for several months

The AI-generated image on the billboard, installed on a building at Valiasr Square in Tehran, takes aim at Trump.
It shows a piece of blue fabric shaped like the Strait of Hormuz covering the bottom part of Trump's face. The fabric appears sewn onto the lip of the US president, across the narrowest part of the Strait, where Iran is refusing to let ships pass.
