Is Cristiano Ronaldo playing for Al Nassr vs. Arkadag today?

Cristiano Ronaldo may have reportedly ended his strike at Al Nassr, but he still will play no part against Arkadag on Wednesday, Feb. 11.

Al Nassr will visit Turkmenistan to face Arkadag in the AFC Champions League Two round of 16 first leg. The second leg is set for Feb. 18 back in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Ronaldo has sat out all but one of Al Nassr's games in the competition this season. The Champions League Two is a second-tier competition behind the AFC Champions League Elite, for which Al Nassr failed to qualify.

That has given Al Nassr a chance to rest the 41-year-old Portuguese star, which the club has done again Wednesday.

Ronaldo has also played no part in Al Nassr's past two league matches for a very different reason.

The veteran forward has sat out wins against Al Riyadh and Al Ittihad as a protest against his club's owner, Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF).

Ronaldo has reportedly been upset over an alleged lack of investment from the PIF, which is also the majority owner in three other Saudi powers: Al Ahli, Al Ittihad, and Al Hilal.

According to ESPN, however, Ronaldo has agreed to end his strike and will return to play against Al Fateh on Saturday, Feb. 14.

Ronaldo has reportedly been demanding the PIF to pay overdue salaries and restore his countrymen Simão Coutinho (sporting director) and José Semedo (CEO) to their previous positions after they were suspended.

Ronaldo has scored 17 goals in 18 league matches this season.
