Jayden Adams’ longtime partner, Aqueelah Adendorf, is speaking out following the professional soccer player’s sudden death.

After the South African Football Players Union (SAFPU) announced on July 11 that Adams died at age 25, Adendorf posted a tribute to her late love on Instagram, sharing a series of photographs of the couple holding hands.

“There are no words to describe the pain I’m feeling,” she wrote in her caption. “Rest in peace, my love. Thank you for every memory, every laugh, every hug, and every moment we shared. You were not only the love of my life but also my greatest supporter and my best friend.”

“A part of my heart left with you, and I will carry your love with me forever,” Adendorf continued. “Until we meet again, I’ll miss you every single day. Rest easy, my angel. I love you always and forever. 🕊️❤️.”

Adendorf also shared a message on her Instagram Stories, thanking her followers and supporters for their “kind condolences and messages of support.”

“They truly mean a lot to me and Allaia during this difficult time, even if I haven’t responded yet,” she said, referring to the couple’s 5-year-old daughter, Allaia-Jayda.

“I will get back to everyone as soon as I can. Thank you for your understanding and kindness.❤️,” added Adendorf.

Adams’ death came weeks after he represented his country at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

In a statement announcing that the midfielder died, the SAFPU said it was “devastated by the untimely passing of Mamelodi Sundowns and Bafana Bafana midfielder, Jayden Adams.”

“His passing is an immeasurable loss to his family, teammates, clubs, the football fraternity and the country at large,” the statement continued.

Weeks prior to Adams’ death, Adendorf shared her support for the athlete ahead of his team’s arrival in the U.S. for its first World Cup appearance in 16 years.

“Watching you achieve something this big has filled my heart with so much pride,” she wrote on Instagram, just under two weeks before South Africa faced Mexico.

“From the hard work, sacrifices, early mornings, disappointments, and moments nobody saw — you kept going, stayed disciplined, and trusted God through it all,” Adendorf continued. “And now look at you… representing your country on the national team.”

Emphasizing that she will always be his “proudest supporter” and “biggest cheerleader,” Adendorf went on to express just how inspiring it had been to watch Adams on his journey to the World Cup.

“You deserve every single moment of this because I’ve seen how much you’ve worked for it,” she wrote. “Through every challenge, you never gave up on your dream, and that alone makes me so proud to stand beside you and support you through it all.”
