Kate Middleton revealed a relatable way into "hard conversations" with her children at the 2026 BAFTAs

The Princess of Wales added that George, Charlotte and Louis are getting more interested in movies

Kate Middleton shared her approach to "hard conversations" with her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

The Princess of Wales, 44, opened up while attending the EE BAFTA Film Awards in London on Feb. 22 with her husband, Prince William.

BAFTA film committee chair Emily Stillman told Princess Kate, "Last time I saw you, you were pregnant with George, and you were doing your Harry Potter spells," Hello! magazine reported. Stillman was referring to Kate's tour of the Harry Potter set at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in 2013 with Prince William and Prince Harry.

The royal mom revealed her kids' enthusiasm for movies now, remarking, "I was saying how much the children would love to look around. They love the idea of going behind the scenes and finding out how it all happens."

"The children are starting to get interested in films, and it's a really great way to have some of the hard conversations with them," Princess Kate added.

The Prince and Princess of Wales are parents to Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7, and the siblings might have inherited their enthusiasm for movies from their dad.

Prince William, 43, is president of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA), a leading independent arts charity and the force behind the film awards. In 2021, the Prince William BAFTA Bursary grants were launched to help young people from underrepresented groups advance their careers in the arts, and over 237 recipients have been recognized to date.

William and Kate's glamorous evening at the BAFTAs marked their first public appearance following the historic arrest of ex-Prince Andrew on Feb. 19. Last Thursday, King Charles' brother was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office as authorities investigate a claim that he shared confidential information with the late Jeffrey Epstei​​n while serving as a trade envoy for the U.K. in the 2000s.

The former Duke of York's ties to Epstein set his step back from royal life in motion in 2019, and Andrew has continuously denied any wrongdoing regarding their relationship.

While stepping out on Sunday, the Prince of Wales and heir to the throne candidly revealed that he wasn't in a "calm" mood when discussing one of the night's celebrated movies.

William said on the red carpet that he had not yet seen Hamnet because he “needed to be in a calm mood” to view it, according to the Daily Mail.

“I need to be in quite a calm state, and I am not at the moment. I will save it,” Prince William said.

Elsewhere during the evening, the Prince and Princess of Wales seemingly ignored a question about the future of the royal family.
