Ruffalo’s statement on the post reads, ā€œChatGPT’s President is Trump’s biggest donor. Their tech powers ICE. It’s time to boycott. Quit GPT.ā€ For those unversed, OpenAI’s president Greg Brockman has given President Donald Trump’s super PAC MAGA Inc. a hefty donation of $25 million. Brockman is Trump’s biggest donor, according to the Instagram campaign.

Not only that, ICE uses a rĆ©sumĆ© screening tool powered by ChatGPT-4 (via MIT Technology Review). The campaign urges users to boycott ChatGPT and instead experiment with other chatbots. The third slide in the post states, ā€œmaking an example of OpenAI shows every CEO the cost of enabling Trump.ā€

In fact, Ruffalo has suggested alternative options to users in the comments section of this post. He wrote, ā€œThere are other other chat apps you can use that are actually just as good, or cheaper or more private, that don’t fund evil in the world. Lumo from ProtonMail comes to mind, but also DuckDuckGo. I am sure there are so many more.ā€

Fans have responded positively to the campaign in the comments section. One fan commented, ā€œjust don’t use ai, we’re in a state of water bankruptcy.ā€ A second fan praised Ruffalo by writing, ā€œDr Banner, the voice of reason.ā€ As of writing, the post has garnered 1.5 million likes and 7.4K comments.
