- Matt Damon admitted to watching *Love Island* and *Temptation Island *with his daughters.

- The actor taunted his kids over their expectations of the couples.

- He joked to Amy Poehler that *Temptation Island* is “funny” yet a “disaster.”

Matt Damon is currently learning about the joys and tribulations of watching reality TV dating shows.

The actor, 55, sat down with Amy Poehler on her *Good Hang* podcast on Tuesday and admitted that he’s watched both *Love Island* and *Temptation Island *with his daughters. (Damon shares Alexia, 27, Isabelle, 20, Gia, 17, and Stella, 15, with his wife of over 20 years, Luciana.)

When asked if he’s been watching anything that’s been making him laugh, Damon said, “I, literally, last night ... so my my kids were watching this thing called *Love Island*.”

Poehler filled him in on the teen obsession with the series — which is a U.K. staple but airs the USA version on Peacock Thursday through Tuesday.

“I couldn’t do it. I can’t do it,” he admitted of bingeing the series, which features hot singles competing in racy challenges and exploring connections with each other in a secluded villa in Fiji.

He continued, “But before, we literally sat down. We had some friends visiting. Then they have a teenage daughter, and they’re staying with us. And so the kids at dinner were like, ‘We’re going to watch this thing.’ So we sat down and it didn’t come on till 9 [p.m.]. And so we’re flicking, and there’s something called *Temptation Island*.”

Damon said the group tossed on episode 1 of season 2 to watch for an hour before *Love Island* came on, and “It did not disappoint.”

*Temptation Island* follows four “committed” couples who want to test their relationship by heading to a tropical resort full of sexy singles. They are separated — women in one location with single men, and men and single women in another —and tasked with testing their loyalty to each other despite temptation. (The show moved from USA Network to Netflix in 2024.)

“It’s so funny,” Damon confessed. “So they bring in the hot singles, and all the guys come in and rip their shirts off, and they’re like, ‘You made a mistake bringing her here, bro.’”

Damon said they made it through the entire episode, and although he’s not sure if he’ll continue watching the Mark L. Walberg-hosted series, he and his family were “howling” as they took in the shenanigans.

“The kids are, like, taking bets on which couples are going to make it. And I’m like, ‘You know, guys, I doubt if they all just were faithful to each other, there wouldn’t be much of a show. So I have a feeling we’re going to see some cracks in the veneer.’”

He added, “Just from a writing perspective, I can tell you, we’re going to need a little more conflict.”

Damon said he couldn’t get enough of the couple interviews where they confessed to cheating on each other after dating for “15 months.” But, hey, this hot-singles-on-a-secluded-island experiment is the true fidelity test!

“It’s, like, ‘I mean, after six months, I had my lapse, and I was unfaithful to her. But since then, I’ve been...,’ and you’re just like, ‘This is a f---ing disaster,’ Damon said, laughing. “I don’t know if I’ll hang in there. I made it through one episode. We had some laughs.”

Damon, who’s been promoting his role in Christopher Nolan’s latest movie, *The Odyssey*, recently stepped out with his daughters and wife at the world premiere of the epic.
