Meghan Markle is paying tribute to Prince Harry’s military service on Veterans Day.
On Nov. 11, the Duchess of Sussex, 44, shared a heartfelt message on the her Instagram page honoring her husband, a veteran of the British Army.
“As my husband says, ‘Once served. Always serving.’ Thank you to all who served, sacrificed, and continue to serve,” she wrote. “Honoring you on Veterans Day. And every day.”
The post featured a two-part montage that opened with throwback footage of Prince Harry during his 2013 deployment in Afghanistan. In the clip, filmed during a television interview at Camp Bastion, Harry abruptly springs into action when an alarm sounds, signaling a potential security threat. Without hesitation, he breaks off mid-sentence and races toward his Apache helicopter, ready to respond.

The Duke of Sussex served in the military from 2005 to 2015 and deployed twice to Afghanistan. During that time, he rose to the rank of Captain and became an Apache helicopter pilot.
In 2014, the year before he retired, Harry launched the Invictus Games, an international adaptive sports tournament for veterans and service personnel as a means for healing, and the global games continue today as a biennial tournament.
The second photo Meghan shared of Harry in her Veterans Day post was from his recent trip to Canada last week to commemorate Remembrance Day.

The picture showed the Duke of Sussex with a veteran at the Veterans Centre at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto, sharing a chat during his stop there on Nov. 6.
Harry met with veterans and medical, therapeutic and care professionals at Sunnybrook during his solo trip to Canada last week, which he made at the invitation of the True Patriot Love Foundation for a series of events ahead of Remembrance Day.
Remembrance Day is the British equivalent of Veterans Day in the U.S. and is observed annually in the U.K. and throughout the Commonwealth on Nov. 11, honoring military lives lost and those who served.
Though Prince Harry and Meghan stepped back from their royal roles in the U.K. in 2020 and moved to the U.S., the Duke of Sussex continues to mark Remembrance in early November by wearing a poppy pin.

On Nov. 8, the Duke of Sussex sported a red poppy on his lapel as he and Meghan stepped out for two high-profile events in Los Angeles — the Baby2Baby Gala in West Hollywood, where their close friend Serena Williams was honored, and later, Kris Jenner’s 70th birthday bash at Jeff Bezos' Beverly Hills home.
The couple drew criticism for their glamorous night out, which came on the eve of Remembrance Sunday — the most solemn occasions on the royal calendar.
That same evening in London, members of the royal family gathered for the annual Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall.
King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince William and Kate Middleton attended the somber service at the Cenotaph war memorial on Nov. 9, paying their respects for the lives lost in war.
