On March 28, during the final round of the Miss Grand Thailand pageant, contestant Kamolwan Chanago made a cheeky reference to a viral moment during the preliminaries

Days earlier, Chanago experienced a malfunction when her veneers fell out of her mouth while she was giving a speech on stage on March 25

At the time, a spokesperson for Miss Grand International told PEOPLE in a statement, "She handled the situation with professionalism and composure, and the event continued smoothly without disruption"

The Thai beauty queen whose veneers came out on stage made a cheeky reference to her viral video.

During the final round of Miss Grand Thailand — which was broadcast on YouTube on Saturday, March 28 — Kamolwan Chanago stepped out to announce herself on stage. However, before speaking her name and the province she was representing, Pathum Thani, the contestant quickly placed a set of false teeth inside her mouth.

The on-stage move nodded to a malfunction she experienced during the preliminary round of Miss Grand Thailand 2026, which was livestreamed on YouTube on Wednesday, March 25.

The 18-year-old was standing at the microphone delivering a speech when her top veneers came visibly loose, and she started mumbling her words. Chanago turned around to swiftly tweak them before displaying a model poker face and beginning her dazzling walk across the stage.

Showing off her sparkly pink gown and fur shawl, Chanago donned a smile as she continued her walk. She then gave a two-part twirl before striking more poses and heading off stage. The reported Chanago was welcomed with applause from the crowd.

“She handled this better than most of us handle a bad hair day. Is this the most iconic pageant moment ever?,” a spectator said, per the outlet. A second witness reportedly added, “How embarrassing. I would die. It's so impressive she carried on like nothing had happened.”

Shortly after her on-stage blunder, a spokesperson for Miss Grand International told PEOPLE, "During her on-stage introduction, Kamolwan Chanago experienced a minor and unexpected incident in which her veneer teeth became dislodged."
