A North Carolina couple tied the knot at their dream wedding venue: a local ice cream shop.
On Thursday, Feb. 5, Reagan Baker and Isaiah McKinley exchanged vows at the Cow Cafe in New Bern, where their relationship began just one year prior.
“Our first date was at the Cow Cafe,” Baker, 19, told local outlet WITN. “It’s always been a special place in both of our hearts. He used to come here with his grandmother all the time when he was little. She worked at the law firm across the street.”
While the couple couldn’t imagine themselves saying “I do” anywhere else, McKinley, 18, acknowledged that it wasn’t the most traditional choice.
“We were like, ‘Oh yeah, we got married at the Cow Cafe,’ and people are like, ‘What?’ " he said. “You wouldn’t think to get married at an ice cream parlor.”

To make the moment even more special, the couple’s ceremony marked the first wedding to ever be held at the Cow Cafe.
“This sweet couple strolled through our doors this past Wednesday and told us they had a special request,” the ice cream parlor wrote on Facebook alongside several photos from the ceremony. “Of course, our first thought was they wanted us to make their favorite ice cream flavor! How wrong were we??”
“They asked very humbly if they could get married at Cow Cafe,” the post continued. “They went on to tell us that Isaiah’s grandmother worked at the Gillespie law firm for many years, which is right across the street from Cow Cafe. Her name was Rosemary and she used to bring Isaiah to Cow Cafe when he was little.”
Going on to note that Baker and McKinley’s first date had taken place at the same spot exactly one year ago, the ice cream shop immediately agreed to the idea and made the young couple's dream a reality the very next day.
“At noon on Thursday of this week beautiful Reagan walked down the Cow Cafe aisle as our piano-playing cow played the Wedding March,” the Cow Cafe wrote. “The vows were said. Sweet words of love were spoken. It was a special couple and a sweet ceremony.”
“We were honored to have been able to have Cow Cafe be a part of this wonderful love story,” the parlor added. “Isaiah and Reagan, may God bless you with many years of happiness! I do believe Rosemary would be pleased. We never forget the memories we make at Cow Cafe!”
