New England Patriots guard Greg Van Roten suffered a thigh injury in the second quarter of Sunday’s loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Now, we have an injury update as the Patriots get ready to face the Buffalo Bills in Week 4.

According to Patriots coach Mike Vrabel, via Patriots Wire's Sophie Weller, the veteran offensive lineman will need to undergo "a few more tests" to see where he's at with the injury.

Van Roten left the game in the second quarter and did not return. He was initially signed as a depth option at guard in training camp, and it proved to be a solid move for the Patriots, given what happened to Mike Onwenu, who went down with an ankle injury in Week 2 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

After finding Onwenu's replacement, the Patriots will now have to dig deeper into their depth chart to potentially find a viable replacement for Greg Van Roten, if he misses time.

The top options that immediately come to mind are Ben Brown and Walter Rouse. It will be a full week for the Patriots to figure out Van Roten's health status and make a decision on the best direction moving forward.
