Russell Crowe lost over 50 lbs. after wrapping his latest film, Nuremberg
The actor said that since the movie wrapped a year ago, he has gone from 126 kg (277 lbs.) to 100.9 kg (222 lbs.)
He shared during his appearance on the Joe Rogan Experience what two habits helped him lose the weight
Russell Crowe is opening up about his significant transformation.
The Oscar winner appeared on the Thursday, Nov. 6, episode of the Joe Rogan Experience, where he chatted about his latest film, Nuremberg, and what life was like after wrapping the production.
Crowe, 61, stars as Nazi politician Hermann Göring in the new movie about the Nuremberg Trials after World War II. After wrapping the production, he weighed 126 kilos (277 lbs.). But in the year since the film wrapped, he told Rogan he now weighs 100.9 kg (222 lbs.).
Crowe credits lowering his alcohol intake for helping him lose weight.
"I'm a big proponent for having a drink," he told Rogan, 58. "It's my cultural heritage and as a working-class man, it's my goddamn right, Joe."

However, the Gladiator star acknowledged that as he got older, "there are certain things you start to learn about your capacities."
Crowe is not opposed to drinking, but, as he explained, "If I decide to have a glass of wine with dinner, it's going to be a really nice wine."
"I try not to have casual drinks, now. [As in] having a drink for the sake of it," he said.
Crowe also worked with the health services platform Ways2Well. The actor has received injections to help with various injuries. He credits the shots he gets in his shoulders and knees for calming his body's inflammation.
"I think we talked before about just how many old injuries I carry, and how the injuries in my shoulders are deeply arthritic," he said. "But we can now see in an ultrasound that a year ago I had big thick bands of arthritis, and now it's lessened, probably by about 70%. On one area in my right shoulder, probably by about 90%."
"But now it's f------ rock and roll, son," he said, adding, "It's all going good."

But the actor noted that he's taking this new transformation "slowly,"
"What I want to do is make all these changes and make it a long-term situation," he said. "Ways2Well was a great call for me, because it's calmed down a bunch of stuff and it's taking a bunch of pain away, so I can go and work out and not have to suffer for two or three hours afterwards."
The actor acknowledged, though, with his age, he'll still sustain injuries, "I'm still picking up injuries because I've got to face the fact I'm 61."
Crowe is also garnering Oscar buzz for his performance in the historical courtroom drama. The film "chronicles the true story of the eponymous trials held by the Allies against the defeated Nazi regime," per an official synopsis.
"The film centers on American psychiatrist Douglas Kelley (Rami Malek), who is tasked with determining whether Nazi prisoners are fit to stand trial for their war crimes and finds himself in a complex battle of wits with Hermann Göring, Hitler’s right-hand man," the synopsis adds.
