The Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings star, 37, married Allison Hsu, 30, over the weekend of Oct. 3, a source confirms to PEOPLE.
TMZ was the first to report the nuptials. The Marvel star and Interscope Records vice president of digital marketing celebrated in France, per the outlet.
The couple said “I do” nearly four years after they were first romantically linked in late 2022.
The pair made their relationship Instagram official on Nov. 20, 2022. Days later, they attended the Violent Night premiere in Los Angeles together on Nov. 29, 2022.

“She’s absolutely changed my life, so I’m very, very grateful to have her,” Liu told PEOPLE in August 2023. Later, in November 2023, he told PEOPLE that he felt a “breath of relief” after finding Hsu.
“We’ve been tremendously happy,” he shared at the time. “I feel challenged and loved and cared for, and I feel championed. I think the best, healthiest relationships are ones where you have each other’s back, and I definitely feel like that’s the case.”
Liu and Hsu announced their engagement in a joint post on Instagram on May 11, 2025. The two posted several photos together in Paris, France, where Liu proposed with the Eiffel Tower and a lavish candlelit floral display as the backdrop.
“Us forever 💍💍💍🤍🤍🤍,” Hsu, who flashed her sparkling diamond ring, wrote in the caption.

In a second joint Instagram post that day, Liu wrote, “From weekends in Paris, day trips to Palm Springs, long nights on set, afternoons vegging on the couch and everything in between, I choose you forever and always.”
Hsu commented, “I love you fiancé!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Hsu later described the proposal on Instagram as the “best day of 2025” while Liu joked in the comments that it was a “pretty stressful one” for him.

“I’m not a planner by nature, and it’s probably one of the best things I’ve ever planned,” Liu gushed to Entertainment Tonight in November 2025. “I went full creative director. I had a vision, and worked with some really great people to get it done. She was excited and she loved it, and that’s the most important thing. You’re kind of, like, choreographing this entire show for an audience of one.”
After the proposal, Taylor Swiftsurprised Hsu with a congratulatory message.
Liu explained during his appearance on TheTonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Dec. 15 that he asked Swift to surprise Hsu because she’s a longtime Swiftie.
“I’ll preface this by saying my fiancée works in music, so she’s a digital marketing executive, and she grew up a Swiftie. She loves Taylor Swift,” The Copenhagen Test star said. “Taylor Swift’s songs and her music, that was a big part of the beginning of our relationship, was getting to know her through those songs, and why they meant so much to her.”
He continued, “I was like, ‘Well, there’s one person that would make this engagement so special,’ and I reached out — as if we’re BFFs, no I mean I met her a couple of times, she’s fantastic — I reached out to Taylor through her publicist and I said, ‘Hey, is there any way that I could convince you to make like a two-second video just to say congrats?’ And she literally two days later sent it over, and I was able to play it for her. And so Taylor Swift was the cherry on top.”
Hsu was overwhelmed with emotion when she saw the pop star’s video. “She was really emotional before and then when I played that video, she just completely lost it,” Liu remembered.

While chatting with PEOPLE in February, Liu opened up about wedding planning. He joked that the process was “really wonderful” — until he saw the prices.
“Everything’s been good. I would say we’re at the point now where it’s probably my least favorite, it’s where I’m finding out how much everything costs,” he shared. “And I really do think no matter what your budget is, it’s always going to cost more than you think. Everything always costs more than you think. That’s definitely true for us as well.”
Despite the high costs, the Barbie actor noted at the time that wedding planning overall had been a “relatively pain-free and joyous process,” especially because he has the same non-negotiable as Hsu: “good music.”
“You’re throwing a party with your best friends in the whole wide world and, of course, it’s our day but it’s also their day. It’s just a day to celebrate kind of everyone being together and sharing in our happy moment,” Liu said. “And so, just making sure that our musical acts are all lined up and ready to go.”
