Sophie Habboo and her husband, Jamie Laing, have worked together on multiple iterations of their podcast, which is currently titled NearlyParents, since launching the collaboration in March 2022

The couple — who originally met as costars on the British reality show Made in Chelsea — recently welcomed their son, Ziggy, in December 2025, and Habboo tells PEOPLE that becoming a mother has shifted their worlds entirely

She and Laing will offer an unprecedentedly personal glimpse into their lives and partnership in their new docuseries, Raising Chelsea, which premieres on Disney+ in the U.K. and Hulu and Freeform in the U.S. on April 2

Technically, Sophie Habboo has worked with her husband, Jamie Laing, for their entire relationship, having struck up a romance as costars on the U.K. reality show Made in Chelsea. As their personal bond blossomed, so too did their professional one.

A few months after they got engaged in late 2021, the duo launched their NearlyWeds podcast, and they've continued pursuing work in tandem ever since. They've created plenty to be proud of, most recently with their three-part docuseries, Raising Chelsea, which premieres on Hulu and Freeform in the U.S. and on Disney+ in the U.K. on April 2.

"It is an interesting dynamic. It's definitely something you have to adjust to," Habboo tells PEOPLE, reflecting on her partnership with Laing. "We've definitely got to grips with it over the years."

However, their proudest project came to fruition in December 2025, when they welcomed their first child together, son Ziggy. Habboo says that becoming parents defined their partnership in new and exciting ways, mostly to make them "much more of a team."

"We will always do what's right for both of us, and I have different preferences to Jamie. He's so open and I'm probably slightly more private, but we've really found that balance," she says. "I think that's something that we've had to learn along the way because at the beginning, there was no balance at all."

Evolution has been crucial throughout Habboo and Laing's lives together. For example, they've rebranded their podcast three times, going from the original iteration, NearlyWeds, to NewlyWeds then later to NearlyParents, as it's currently called.

"It's just been really special because the listeners have gone on that journey with us and so many people have been on that same journey of getting married, to being married, to now having kids. So it's really amazing," Habboo reflects.

Raising Chelsea marks one of their biggest pivots yet. The series offers viewers a glimpse into their lives on a particularly genuine level, with far less structure than previous framings of their lives. The production crew followed Habboo for eight months of her pregnancy, capturing the highest highs and lowest lows, all of which she herself couldn't really anticipate and a first-time mom.

"We really just invited the cameras in ... and it was kind of wild," she reflects. "It was probably quite difficult at times and an adjustment, but watching it, I'm happy we did it and did it that way. It just captured real moments and real authenticity. It's very organic and it's not edited. It is just what it is."

In some ways, Habboo's perspective and ambitions have shifted once again now that she's a parent. She admits that she didn't expect a change to happen, but she is embracing her new instincts.

"I love my career, I love what I do, I love podcasting, I love hosting events," says Habboo. "But becoming mom has really shifted my mindset, and I'm still navigating how I'm going to balance it all and juggle it all and what to share and what not to share. I'm still in those early stages of what to do."

She recalls some words of wisdom she received while expecting her son; now that she's a mom herself, Habboo says they ring especially true: "You will know what's best for your baby, and you don't have to compare yourself to other moms or other situations," she shares. "Just follow what feels right for you and just take it easy."

Raising Chelsea premieres on April 2 and will be available to stream on Hulu and Freeform in the U.S. and on Disney+ in the U.K.
