Doing the Work

Jack tried to distance himself from Nikki for the sake of her marriage, but she begged for his help by becoming Nick’s sponsor. Jack’s plea to Victor to set aside their differences for Nick’s benefit fell on deaf ears. Victor was more receptive when Victoria later suggested that Nick should decide who he wanted his sponsor to be. If he wanted Jack, then it should be his choice.

Marie returned to rehab after she relapsed, and she and Nick bonded. Nick admitted to Nikki that he felt ashamed for letting her down. Nikki stressed that he needed to stay in rehab until he had his addiction under control. Victor and Nick later shared an emotional reunion, and Victor assured his son that he was proud of him. After Marie learned her husband had filed for divorce, she desperately wanted to search the facility for drugs, but Nick remained determined to stay clean.

Phyllis flipped out when Matt went missing, and she accused Victor of being behind Matt’s disappearance. Victor warned her that Matt was dangerous, but Phyllis defended that Matt had changed. Daniel questioned Phyllis’ relationship with Matt.

Family Ties

Holden opened up to Stephanie about his struggle to choose to side with Billy or Lily in the war with Chancellor, weighing his career goals against his connection with his newfound sister. Holden was later touched when Lily vowed to fight for Katherine’s legacy for their family, and he sided with her despite his fears that Devon and Nate would never accept him.

Lily refused to let Nate delay his hand surgery to stay at Winters. Nate informed Stephanie that he’d scheduled his surgery, and they celebrated the possibility of him joining her team at Memorial.

Diane suggested that she and Jack go on vacation to avoid the conflict at Chancellor. Jack hesitated to leave town in case Nick needed him, but Diane pushed her husband to make their marriage his priority. Lily was stunned when Jack rejected her offer to repay John’s loan with interest, opting to allow Billy to fight his own battle. Diane and Jack escaped to Tahiti, where she confided her insecurities about not being worthy of him.

Lily dared Billy to convince her that he deserved to run Chancellor Industries. Billy was skeptical that she would actually give him a chance to prove himself, but he impressed her with a passionate speech about his respect for Katherine and his vision for the company. Lily promised to give him an answer the next day.

Lily and Cane suspected that there might be more to the story behind John’s loan to Chancellor, and they considered letting Billy run the company in case something damaging was discovered. Meanwhile, Sally sensed that Lily might be setting up Billy for a fall. Billy told Sally that he had a plan.

Strange Bedfellows

Victoria pitched an idea to Kyle about resurrecting Audra’s marketing campaign for Vibrante by generating buzz about a competition between Newman and Jabot. Claire became suspicious about the potential partnership and accused Kyle of wanting to get revenge on Victor, but Kyle denied it.

At Jabot Cosmetics, Victoria and Kyle discussed their potential marketing plan, and their banter turned seductive. Victoria and Kyle had sex in Jack’s office, but they agreed it should never happen again. Kyle later found Victoria’s stray earring and pocketed it.
