The Kardashian curse may not apply solely to NBA players. Sources say that Timothée Chalamet is pointing the finger at his famous girlfriend and their family for his latest loss. The Marty Supreme actor was nominated for a third Best Actor Oscar on Sunday.

According to insiders, “Timothée believes the Kardashian circus cost him the Oscar.” Tensions appeared to be high between him and Kylie Jenner throughout the ceremony as Timothée chased that elusive golden statuette.

Timothée’s girlfriend is not taking his bitterness towards her family lying down. It seems she has a different opinion from Timothée over his Oscar defeat.

“She’s telling friends the loss had nothing to do with her,” an insider told Rob Shuter’s Substack Naughty But Nice. She’s reportedly angry with her boyfriend for blaming her famous family.

Coming into Sunday’s big show, Timothée was among the frontrunners to finally win an acting Oscar. He had finally broken through on another big stage, winning the Golden Globe for Best Actor in Marty Supreme this year. That was his fifth Golden Globe nomination, with the Complete Unknown star going 0-4 before that.

For months, there have been rumors that Kylie and Timothée are on the verge of breaking up. In December reports suggested the actor was using her name for attention.

April will mark three years together for the couple, if they make it that far. Sources believe Timothée was visibly upset when Michael B. Jordan won Best Actor instead of him on Sunday. A lip reader suggests at one point in the evening, Timothée whispered to Kylie, “I hate this.”

While he may allegedly think his ties to a reality TV family hurt his image with older voters, there’s another theory to his recent Oscar defeat. He did a Town Hall chat with Matthew McConaughey in the weeks leading up to the Academy Awards. His comments that ballet and the opera were in essence irrelevant today, made huge waves in the public.

Marty Supreme failed to take home a single Oscar on Sunday.
