Foo Fighters drummer Ilan Rubin is remembering the time Tom DeLonge stunned Trent Reznor by casually showing him a snapshot of a dead alien.

The rocker, who previously served as drummer for Reznor’s band Nine Inch Nails and DeLonge’s band Angels & Airwaves, revealed that DeLonge selected his 2020 wedding to Samantha Gray Hissong as the perfect location to show Reznor the image of the alleged alien corpse.

“When my wife and I got married, we finished the ceremony, everyone kind of goes to the reception or whatever, and she and I go up to the suite for her to get out of the wedding dress and have some champagne,” Rubin explained on a recent episode of the Go With Elmo Lovano podcast. “We finally get down to the reception, and the first two people I see are Tom and Trent.”

The drummer recalled spotting DeLonge “just hovering over Trent” with his phone out.

“I know how this goes. 'Hey, check this out!'" Rubin said. "And I'm thinking, ‘What is he possibly showing him right now?'"

So, he walked up to Reznor and Delonge and asked. "I go straight up to them, and I'm like, 'Hey guys, how's it going?' Tom's like, 'Dude! Congratulations! I'll see ya in a bit, I'm gonna get a drink!'" Rubin recalled. "I was like, 'Trent, what's going on?' He's like, 'That dude just showed me a dead alien.'"

What exactly was depicted in that dead alien photo that DeLonge showed Reznor, however, remains unclear. Reflecting on DeLonge’s behavior, Rubin continued, "Nobody else could conduct themselves in that way and it be normal, but he’s just so unapologetically him it’s infectious. It’s great. I’ll always remember that."

DeLonge is a longtime believer in aliens, so much so that he famously quit Blink-182 in 2015 in order to find evidence of extraterrestrial life. He went on to form To the Stars Academy of Arts & Sciences, an organization that aims to "work collectively to allow gifted researchers the freedom to explore exotic science and technologies with the infrastructure and resources to rapidly transition innovative ideas into world-changing products and services," per its website.

During his search, DeLonge claimed to have made contact with the little green guys while camping outside Area 51 and was later awarded UFO Researcher of the Year in 2017. He also executive-produced two seasons of the History Channel's Unidentified: Inside America's UFO Investigation and published multiple Sekret Machines books, which are inspired by his work with the U.S. Department of Defense and meetings with high-ranking officials discussing their research.

In the years since, DeLonge has not only returned to Blink-182, but also celebrated being right all along about there being more out there following the White House’s UFO hearings in 2023.

"The UFO Hearings today made history,” DeLonge captioned a since-deleted Instagram post. "I am so proud of the three witnesses today that blew the lid off the UFO secrecy that has been intact for decades."

Alongside the note, DeLonge shared a photo that stated: “Tom was right, aliens f---ing exist."
