- *The Adventures of Cliff Booth* is an upcoming Netflix sequel to Quentin Tarantino's 2019 film *Once Upon a Time in Hollywood*.

- Brad Pitt will reprise his role as Hollywood stuntman Cliff Booth.

- David Fincher directs a script penned by Tarantino.

Like *Inglourious Basterds* before it, Quentin Tarantino's *Once Upon a Time in Hollywood* rewrote history with a bloody pen.

Now, with *The Adventures of Cliff Booth*, a *Hollywood* sequel penned by Tarantino, we'll get to see what Tinseltown looks like in a world where Charles Manson's crimes didn't poison the era's counterculture. Brad Pitt will return as Hollywood stuntman Cliff Booth for the Netflix sequel, reprising the character that earned him the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.

It's a character Tarantino can't quit. His 2021 novelization of *Once Upon a Time in Hollywood* is brimming with Cliff lore, and the sequel, as its title implies, puts Cliff front and center. The *Pulp Fiction* director previously told* * that Booth is based on a real stuntman from the '60s and '70s who was a "dangerous dude" and "indestructible."

David Fincher (*Zodiac, The Killer*) directs the sequel, which received its first trailer during Super Bowl LX. Below is everything we know about *The Adventures of Cliff Booth*.**

An official synopsis for *The Adventures of Cliff Booth* is forthcoming, but *Deadline* previously reported that the movie will follow Cliff as "a Hollywood studio fixer." It appears the story is set roughly eight years after the events of *Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, *as evidenced by the posters for 1977 movies like *Looking for Mr. Goodbar *and* Black Sunday *seen in the trailer.

In an August 2025 chat with the* Tarantino Church* podcast, Tarantino said that Pitt was the "glue" that brought the project together. He also expressed excitement over Fincher's involvement. “I think me and David Fincher are the two best directors," he said, adding that his script was essentially a "gigantic novel written in screenplay form."**

Is there a trailer for The Adventures of Cliff Booth?

The first trailer for *The Adventures of Cliff Booth* arrived during Super Bowl LX, teasing a cheeky and action-packed caper that, like its predecessor, aims to reverently recreate the Hollywood sights and sounds of the era.

The trailer, which has yet to be officially released online by Netflix but is circulating on social media, begins with a character played by Elizabeth Debicki asking Cliff about his encounter with the Manson Family at the end of *Once Upon a Time in Hollywood*.

"I don't possess many talents, but I know better than to get in the way of a good story," he says in lieu of elaboration.

From there, Emerson, Lake & Palmer's cover of "Peter Gunn" pulses over shots of clubs, beaches, backrooms, studio lots, racetracks, and movie theaters, teasing a grimy thriller about the dirty work unfolding behind the scenes of Hollywood. (*Pulp Fiction* fans will also note the Big Kahuna Burger, a staple of the Tarantino-verse.)**

Who’s in the cast of The Adventures of Cliff Booth?

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II in The Adventures of Cliff Booth

Brad Pitt will lead the cast as the titular Cliff, and he's not the only original actor returning. In August, Timothy Olyphant seemingly revealed on the *Conan O’Brien Needs A Friend* podcast that he would also be in the sequel, presumably as James Stacy, the real-life actor he played in the previous film. Stacy starred on *Lancer* (1968–1970), the Western TV series that Leonardo DiCaprio's fictional Rick Dalton guested on in Tarantino's film.

It's currently unclear if any other *Once Upon a Time in Hollywood* vets will appear in *The Adventures of Cliff Booth*, but the cast will include several fresh faces. In addition to Debicki, the ensemble features Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (*Wonder Man*), JB Tadena (*Kung Fu*), and Scott Caan (*Hawaii Five-0*), who some are theorizing is playing a fictionalized version of his dad, James Caan, a titan of '70s cinema.

Debicki called the movie a "dream to make" during a January 2026 interview with PEOPLE. "I absolutely loved it... We shot it for nearly six months in L.A., and I just adored, adored working with David, just love him to pieces. And I loved working with Brad. In his absolutely iconic role, yeah, it was a joy."**
