- Tyler Mane has announced he's been diagnosed with breast cancer.

- The *X-Men* and *Halloween* actor said he's sharing his diagnosis to raise awareness for male breast cancer.

- "Because it's rarely talked about, it's usually found at later stages and has worse outcomes. I want to change that," he said.

*X-Men** *actor Tyler Mane has been diagnosed with a "super rareā€ form of breast cancer.

The actor, who appeared as Sabretooth in the original 2000 film and Marvel’s *Deadpool & Wolverine*, announced his diagnosis on Tuesday in an effort to raise awareness for male breast cancer, which accounts for less than one percent of all breast cancer diagnoses.

ā€œI have some bad news,ā€ Mane began his Instagram video. ā€œI start chemo today. One in 750 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, and I'm one of them. Because it's rarely talked about, it's usually found at later stages and has worse outcomes. I want to change that.ā€

In his post’s caption, Mane explained that his initial reaction to learning that he had breast cancer was to ā€œkeep it a secretā€ because he thought it was ā€œkind of embarrassing.ā€

He continued, ā€œBut then I found out that men are more likely to be diagnosed in advance stages BECAUSE it’s not talked about and not looked for. In fact, my doctors all dismissed it and it was only because my wife pushed me to get the lump removed that I got in early.ā€

So, Mane wants everyone to start talking about it. ā€œOne in 755 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime and if caught early, it’s VERY treatable. Time to answer the Wake Up Call!ā€ He wrote, encouraging others to ā€œspread the word.ā€

That same evening, the former professional wrestler posted a separate Instagram video detailing his second day of chemotherapy and thanking his followers for their love and support on his cancer journey.

ā€œThank you so much, everybody. I greatly appreciate it, all the love,ā€ Mane said. ā€œI’ve got this. I’m gonna kick cancer's ass.ā€

The *Halloween* star, who is scheduled to undergo four rounds of chemotherapy over the next 12 weeks, also shared an update on how he's feeling at this point.

ā€œSo far, the only side effects I have is where the needle was in, there's a huge red tracking. I guess they were pumping chemicals into me,ā€ he said. ā€œAnd I prepared for losing my hair a long time ago by shaving it. They said I could lose some of my facial hair, but hopefully that doesn't happen.ā€

Mane continued, ā€œThank you all for the love. I appreciate it so, so much. Peace, everybody stay safe. I got this. F--- cancer. See you down the road.ā€

Mane starred as Sabretooth, one of Wolverine's (Hugh Jackman) greatest foes, in the first *X-Men *film. The character was later portrayed on screen by Liev Schreiber in the 2009 prequel, *X-Men Origins: Wolverine*. However, Mane would go on to reprise his role as the mutant over two decades later in* Deadpool & Wolverine *opposite Jackman and Ryan Reynolds.

In addition to his work in the Marvel universe, Mane also starred as Michael Myers in Rob Zombie's *Halloween* films and has appeared in television shows like *Doom Patrol and Jupiter’s Legacy.Ā *
